FAQ
The Proc10A-40GigE is a high-performance GigE Vision frame grabber card designed for demanding multi-camera acquisition. It supports:
- Up to 4 × 10 GigE Vision cameras for simultaneous high-speed acquisition.
- Up to 8 × 5 GigE Vision cameras.
- Up to 16 × 2.5 GigE Vision cameras.
- Up to 30 × 1 GigE Vision cameras.
For larger synchronized camera systems, Gidel’s InfiniVision architecture supports scalable multi-camera configurations across network switches and multiple frame grabber cards.
The Proc10A-40GigE is powered by an Altera Arria 10 FPGA, which handles image acquisition, synchronization, buffering, and optional real-time processing in hardware. Combined with up to 33 GB of on-board memory, this enables low-latency data handling and high-speed host transfer with negligible CPU utilization, leaving host resources available for application logic and additional processing workloads.
Yes. One of the core strengths of the Proc10A-40GigE is optional inline FPGA processing for real-time compression, image enhancement, and detection directly in the acquisition flow. This allows selected tasks to run on the FPGA before the data reaches the host PC memory. For the full list of available options, please refer to the Options tab.
Virtually zero. Because the acquisition path, synchronization, and modular ISP/compression tasks are performed entirely on the FPGA, the host CPU is freed from the heavy lifting of raw data handling. This enables you to run high-level AI inference and complex application logic on the host while minimizing host-side bottlenecks and supporting reliable, zero-frame-loss acquisition.
The Proc10A-40GigE is supported by the ProcVision™ Suite, a modular Vision SDK for FPGA development. It provides a complete ecosystem for building custom imaging systems, allowing you to insert proprietary algorithms directly into the FPGA pipeline. This environment includes dedicated tools for real-time validation and debugging, significantly reducing development risk and accelerating time-to-market.
By utilizing Gidel’s InfiniVision™ architecture, the Proc10A-40GigE supports deterministic, synchronized acquisition from 100+ GigE cameras across scalable multi-card systems. Combined with FPGA-based data handling and a PCIe Gen3 x8 host interface, it delivers deterministic, zero-frame-loss performance in demanding high-speed, high-resolution GigE Vision workflows.
Yes. The Proc10A-40GigE is well suited for real-time high-resolution recording and streaming applications. It can perform inline FPGA processing, including HDR correction, detection, and compression options such as JPEG, Lossless, or Quality+. This reduces the data load before it reaches the host PC, supporting longer recording times, efficient streaming, and low-latency system operation.
All Gidel products come with a 12-month warranty, dedicated technical support, and regular firmware and driver updates to ensure high-performance reliability in demanding, long-term deployments.
